We would like to welcome our newest member of the Eggering clan! Mackenzie Nicole Eggering.

She is so tiny and gorgeous and Aunt Robbyn is going to try and not frighten her. I have that impact on small children for some reason :) Mackenzie is going to prove them wrong though. Although I am very sure Uncle Mike will steal her heart from early on. I am looking forward to lots of farm stories that involve Mackenzie.

Whom ever said raising teenagers was the worst part of parenting has never been to our house on a weekend.

There is nothing better than Sean's friends, Brett's friends and of course our own friends to take away the winter blah... The fun thing about Brett's friends is he does not have to be at home for them to come and it so happened this past weekend he was in KC visiting Shannon. I love that !

Mende, Tim, Eric, Kasey, Cassie, Blake, Stacia and of course Sean worked into some serious jam session time. I am just there for crowd control !

As you can see in the pics below Mende's love is the microphone but every now and then she will relinquish and share :)

Friends, family and great fun ! What more could we ask for to reign in the new year. We traveled to the Lake of the Ozarks for dinner and drinks at the Brass Door. We started out the evening at the Davis condo then traveled to dinner around 8:00 which was then followed by drinks and dancing till they closed for the night. We hailed a cab and arrived safe and sound back at our condo.

What a fabulous New Year's !

I am hoping that Santa found each and everyone of you this holiday season.

Another blessed year has past for our family and I feel very fortunate we all have our health and that there has been no misfortune along the way.

I had originally put together a Christmas video and after spending at the least two hours it was to large for blogspot. Arghh.... I was a little frustrated to say the least. So I kinda of threw at you our holiday pics. So I apologize to no reason for the assortment.

Our family had lots of fun, food and several games of Wii..... Seems to be the sport of choice right now for our family.

The Radio City Christmas Spectacular With The Rockettes ......

On December 13th Brett, Shannon, Sean, Abagail and myself headed to the Fox to see the Radio City Rockettes. Abagail was so excited to see the dancing girls as was Shannon. Brett and Sean were just along for the ride :) Crystal had told Abagail at the beginning of the week about the show and she literally had a time line of when it would take place.

It was truly a special day for Nana and Abagail. Generally the Mooney girls come in a pair but I thought that maybe it was a little much for a one year old to sit through and truly by the end it was a little much for Brett to sit through but Abagail loved every minute of it.

I have never seen so many Mommy's, Nana's and little girls in my life. What a fabulous suggestion, Lisa !

Saturday we had a co-workers wedding reception and we had an added bonus because the Kemper's were invited as well as the cutest girls on earth ! Ryan was out of town hunting so Crystal and the girls came with her parent's. Crystal, we are glad you braved a wedding reception with two little girls !

Miss Abagail is a dancing machine.... Loves dancing and let me tell for a three year old she has the moves. She must of gotten her rhythm from the Huber's because have I mentioned that I can't even do the electric slide :) My friends thought years ago that it was something they could teach me. So after hours of class in our living rooms they resigned to the fact that it was not going to happen.

We don't get an adult night to many times anymore with the Kemper's. So even with starting the evening early, time flew by and as usual with the Kemper's it was tons of fun, and lots of laughs !! We can always quickly pick right up where we left off. For about 6 years every other weekend was spent with Tim and Mende and boy Mike and I miss those days ! It's heck having to grow up ...

Abagail Turns Three ......

My Oh My does time fly ! It seems as if it were only yesterday that Mom, Mike and I were waiting in the hospital waiting room for Miss Abagail to make her debut'. It was such a long night for PaPa Mike (he does not do well in small confined spaces).

Although he tried to be such a trooper, when Miss Maci came along he said, "Just call me" :) Don't take it personal Maci, he certainly adores you !

Enjoy the party pics.... As you can see Abagail went from beautiful Snow White to Millwood bag lady !! As she opened gifts she wanted to put on everything she received so by the end of the gift opening Abagail had on multiple layers.

We certainly didn't have to worry about Abagail being cold !

Today my family participated in our first ALS walk in Columbia. We walked in memory of PaPa Bill.

We would like to thank all of our family and all of our friends for their generous support. We were very proud to of raised $1700.00 our first year and to be the second place team in donations. What a wonderful cause !!

I hope in my lifetime that research finds a cure but until then we will continue to raise money to help these families that are so devastated by this cruel disease.

On Labor Day my family met at the Warrenton golf course in honor of the first anniversary of Bill's death.

While we discovered some of us are really not golfers (me) and some of us are true naturals at playing the game of golf.

My favorite part of golfing is driving the cart and after about 4 holes I was content to watch.

These two teenagers are really growing up and it seemed like this year we all noticed such a difference.

This is the second year in a row that Katie came to stay with us for a week through the summer. Last year we were fortunate enough to have both girls but a prior commitment kept Sara in Ft. Smith.

During this week we have no rules, no rest and no healthy food. (Sorry, Carrie)

Campbell, you need to get a little bit bigger. Then, mommy can put you on a greyhound and Aunt Robbyn will pick you up at the bus stop :) and yes you will have no rules either :))

My vow to all of my blogging friends is to get back on the blogging network. I have had a lengthy absence in my postings... Not to make excuses... but my life has been so crazy since my move over to technology services with the school district. The student data program that I am in charge over just converted over to a web based program that has required long hours at work, home and weekends. But the good news is I was recently promoted and I will be receiving an assistant in the next week or so.

I have to share something funny though. We had the girls about a week ago and Abagail wanted me to take their pictures while we were outside playing. She knew that NaNa usually chases her around with the camera. So even a two year old knows NaNa is not really doing her job blogging !! :)

Next week is our highlight of the summer !! Hmmm... pretty sad when the County Fair is your highlight :))

As you can see Sean has mastered the battle of breaking his steer this year. Although, the steer has been relatively easy to manage from the very beginning.

I really struggle with the whole breaking process and Mike knows it truly is best to leave mom at home. Although my nervousness does not come without warrant.

The first year that Eric and Brett showed cattle Brett was kicked by one of the steers and was badly hurt. After a three and half hour surgery and 42 sessions of physical therapy he was as good as new :( So until the steer is shipped auction night dear old mom worries.

Let's just say if I had my choice Sean would show rabbits !!!

Good Times, Old Friends ......

On Saturday night we attended a wedding reception for Adam & Amanda Detrich. We spent the evening with my oldest and dearest friend, Carol and her family.

Carol and I have been friends for 30 years. Yikes, I am telling our age. Sorry, Carol !

Carol and I both moved to Troy our freshman year of High School. I remember meeting her in Biology class. Well it so happened not long after I moved there that my cousin ask me to go with him to pick up his date. It so happened to be Carol. Well the date didn't work out but little did we know that we were in for a lifetime of fun !

We have sailed through years of marriage, children, grandchildren, professions but most of all great friendship ! Every milestone we encountered we encountered together.

Carol and I both have very busy lives and we don't always get to see each other as much as we would like but we always pick right up where we left off.

As growing up our kids thought they were cousins and Brett said from early on he would marry Christine :) But Christine had different plans, right Josh !

But probably our biggest joy in life for the both of us has been our grandchildren. I remember five years ago we had gone to Chicago for a shopping trip. Carol and I were walking down Michigan Avenue and we were trying to decide who would be the first grandparent but five grandchildren later we are now wondering whom will end up with the most. I think I have the advantage I have four to her two so my numbers may calculate more. :)

Happy Father's Day, Mike ......

All to often holidays go unnoticed for a step-parent and the importance ranks with the biological parent. But today I have to recognize an equally important person in my boys life. Although without reservation Mike promotes the importance of the boys spending time with their father on this day each year.

Over ten years ago Mike came into my life and boy was he in for a ride of a lifetime. Can you imagine joining the ranks of parenting with a two year old in tow and three teenage boys?

Through potty training, broken arms, car accidents, marriages, births of grandchildren, a death of a parent, he took an important role in every aspect of our life together. He did it with grace and acceptance for whatever was thrown at him and believe me at times it was more than dear old mom wanted to deal with.

But with every milestone and every journey Mike was right there and never thought twice of his commitment to our family. For that, I thank him. I could not of chosen a more ideal person to travel this life with. I love you for loving my boys as your own !!

On Sunday we held a family celebration. Miss Coley graduated from high school and is heading off to college in August.

Kyle traveled in from Iowa accompanied by Katie from the northern tip of Missouri. Katie and Sara were here from Arkansas and Coley's new beau Steven came down to enjoy the day.

From visiting to a mean game of volleyball it was a fun filled day of sunshine and fun !

Lincoln County Jackpot Show ......

Our weekend started out with Sean showing his two steers at the Lincoln County jackpot show at our local fairgrounds.

Mike and I both think that this is a great opportunity for these young showmen to prepare for our county fair.

It just helps to build a bit more confidence in showing these overgrown animals :) or maybe it is for moms piece of mind.

Mike and Sean start the regime of the breaking about Christmas time and by July we are pretty confident when we turn our 13 year old loose in the ring with a 1350 pound steer.

Mike was very involved in the county fair growing up and it has become a favorite part of our summer with our boys also.

On Sunday of the holiday weekend we traveled to moms for a BBQ. Nick and Scott were both in town so we took advantage of getting together to catch up on the last few weeks. Scott's job keeps him away from home for great lengths of time and Nick is working on a large project that will keep him traveling into Fall. So our time together right now is pretty limited.

Of course with Scott around we had lots of laughs and I truly hated for the evening to end. As you can see in the pics the babies were exhausted and played very hard while we had our limited sunshine.

At least we were fortunate enough to get in the cooking and dinner before the downpours began.
